CTIE #403008  6/1988 Company service for transporting and delivery creosoted ties throughout the system. On either side of the "CTIE" marking on the car side are "doors" cut into the side of this gondola & continuing down the length of the car between every other set of ribs on both sides of the car. This door arrangement allows MOW / section gangs to "slide" out ties where replacement ties are needed.  KCS had at LEAST 3-4 of this type car in the summer of 1982 when I worked section gang.
